Researchers Seeking to Improve Healthcare Seeking to Conduct Focus Group with Women with Mobility Impairments
Researchers from The University of Michigan Health System’s Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Department are currently exploring issues that women with disabilities face when receiving care for gynecological or reproductive health needs. They are interested in hearing about your opinions on topics like barriers to healthcare access, accommodations at appointments, how gynecological and reproductive needs affect personal relationships, and other related topics.
Mobility Impairments Focus Group: Eligibility
Women or girls eligible for this study will be 16-50 years old, able to communicate comfortably in English and have some limitation in mobility (for at least 6 months) where they need some help with either personal care and/or routine needs, like everyday chores or going to the store. The cause of disability does not matter (it can be illness, injury or a condition from birth). Focus groups will be about 1 – 1.5 hours long. Participants will receive $25.
(Interested women who are unable to attend a focus group may contact the Women’s Health and Disability group and discuss alternate arrangements for a telephone interview.) For information on participating in this focus group, please see the below flyer.
